Faculty Development Cell at MMAS
Faculty Development Cell (FDC) at Muthayammal Memorial College of Arts & Science was instituted in the month of August 2014. The FDC is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program for all instructional faculties across a broad range of professional practice domains:
- Enhancing excellence in teaching through demonstrating and assessing significant student learning outcomes.
- Providing professional development opportunities, including leadership which helps in organizational development.
- Incorporating the effective use of technology.
- Inculcating an awareness on the variety in faculty growth and development and offers comprehensive, on-going, developmental, and flexible supportive programs.
- Identifying the training needs of the faculty members and coordinating the training arrangements, in consultation with the departments.
- Evaluating the training efficiency and maintaining the training records of the faculty members.
Vision
- To develop the Core Competence of Faculty by making them do more funded, external or internal projects.
- To develop the soft-skills of teachers like Communication ability, Basic IT capability, Basic mathematical ability, etc.
- To encourage faculty adopt modern pedagogy so that the class-room learning is multi-faceted
