Outcome Based Education

Currently for the undergraduate programme the duration of study is THREE years. The course of the degree of Bachelor of Science shall consist three academic years divided into six semesters. Each semester consists of 90 working days. Practical examinations will be at the end of each semester. These regulations apply to the regular course of study in approved institutions of the University.

Programme Outcome

By Completion of the programme. Students will be able to

  • PO1: The topics included in different units of different papers would enable the students
    to develop technical skills in Basic Botany and its applied branches.
  • PO2: Skill based subjects like Mushroom cultivation, Herbal medicine, Global climate change, Botanical Garden and landscaping, Herbal technology, Cultivation of algae, Fermentation technology, Environment Impact Analysis, have been included in order to provide opportunities in employment and research in
    Government and Private Organizations.
  • PO3: Practical’s included in the syllabus will improve the skills of the students in microscopic techniques, Observations, Drawing, instrumentation techniques and Physiological and Ecological Laboratory techniques.
Programme Educational Objectives
  • PEO1: To make aware of natural resources and environment and the importance of conversing it.
  • PEO2: To develop a scientific attitude to make students open minded, critical and curious.
  • PEO3: To enhance the employability of the maximum number of students by arranging campus interviews.
  • PEO4: To promote the self-employment of the students through various areas of plant sciences.
  • PEO5: To organize various extension activities in the areas of plant sciences, environment and human values.
  • PEO6: To provide the finest opportunities and environment for teaching, and learning in various areas of plant sciences.
Program Specific Outcome

On completion of the programme, students will be able to

  • PSO1: Disciplinary Knowledge: Understand the fundamental principles, concepts, and theories related to physics and computer science. Also, exhibit proficiency in performing experiments in the laboratory.
  • PSO2: Self-directed & Lifelong Learning: Set learning goals, manage their own learning, reflect on their learning, adapt to new contexts, seek out new knowledge, collaborate with others and to continuously improve their skills and knowledge, through ongoing learning and professional development, and contribute to the growth and development of their field.
  • PSO3: Analytical & Scientific Reasoning: Apply scientific methods, collect and analyze data, test hypotheses, evaluate evidence, apply statistical techniques and use computational models.
  • PSO4: Research related skills: Formulate research questions, conduct literature reviews, design and execute research studies, communicate research findings and collaborate in research projects.
